We are a Spanish immersion play-based family child care provider serving Santa Monica and the Westside of Los Angeles since 2006.
Families that come to us are looking for a child care setting that allows their kid to make themselves feel at home. Our home is designed specifically to give children plenty of safe and interesting places to explore during the day.
Check out our Yelp reviews (thank you past and current parents!). I invite you to tour my home and my program.

What Makes Our Program Special?
Kennedy Family Child Care is a Spanish dual-immersion play-based program grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. Our goal is to encourage each child’s activities, communication, and creativity in order to foster their independence and help them develop a sense of accomplishment.
We strive to prepare your child for preschool by helping them develop social, language, and motor skills through our daily activities. We run a Spanish dual-immersion program because it is so effective in instilling an affinity for languages in young children, and we are proud of our “alumni” who have matriculated to Spanish dual-immersion programs.
Our educators are loving, caring, and trained to understand and anticipate the unique needs of young children and their families. For our ongoing professional development, we rely on Connections for Children, the Westside’s child care referral agency, and the best-in-class Education and Early Childhood program at Santa Monica College.
P.S. If you only studied Spanish in high school, you shouldn’t be surprised if you find your Spanish language words again when conversing with with us and your children at pickup/drop off.
Meet the Team
Patricia Kennedy, Owner and Director. Paty understands how hard it is for parents of young children to find reliable and safe child care while they must be at work. And she understands the agony some parents go through when they discover the person they’ve selected to take care of their child isn’t working out or even worse. Paty has been there herself; just months after returning to work as a career as a hair stylist, she realized her daughter’s child care program was not a safe place and she needed to pull her daughter out. And that marked the beginning of Paty’s next career as an early childhood educator.
Paty studied Early Childhood Education at Santa Monica College, which operates a best-in-class program. Before opening her own business in the mid 2000s, Paty was part of the staff at Lighthouse Preschool in Santa Monica. Paty is a native Spanish speaker and has raised dozens of children to become bilingual Spanish language speakers.
Mayra & Flory – are Paty’s assistants. Both are bilingual Spanish language speakers.
